New [2025] Policy Alert: Only BISP Beneficiaries to Receive Govt Energy Subsidies

Here is a latest update from the government of Pakistan for all the BISP Beneficiaries who are receiving the Payments under Benazir Kafalat Program. From now onward the government will only register the names of those families in power subsidies packages who are already a member of the BISP Program.

New Govt Reforms For Subsidized Power Disbursement 2025

By December 31, 2025, eligible consumers will have been identified and verified under the new strategy. The government intends to stop providing the Tariff Differential Subsidy (TDS) and only provide money for direct subsidies to qualified consumers beginning with the FY 2027 budget. January 2027 is the date of the last switch to the new system.

What Is Pakistan’s Energy Reform?

Provide your CNIC and household information during the survey.
After completing the survey, receive your registration slip.
If eligible, you’ll receive a message from 8171.
Visit 8171.bisp.gov.pk and enter your CNIC to check eligibility.
If selected, you can receive payments through BISP’s designated payment centers or banks.
